New for 2001 the SM6-MP was one of those great "skunk-works" projects. One problem with digital recording can be the lack of warmth, especially n microphone channels. One of our engineers wanted a high quality, no apology low noise analog mic preamp for his own use and we OK'd the project. He designed a great unit with "transformer-coupled input" and extremely useful features like phase button to eliminate boominess, input pad, low cut and level control. The VU meter flashes from green to red 6dB below clipping as a warning light, and the unit includes 48v Phantom Power. XLR and 1/4" ins and outs make it easy to use.
